Since its founding in 2011, Fotogaleríarcos has been an essential platform, promoting the work of Chilean and international photographers. Our mission is clear: to transcend mere subject matter and showcase unique visions that challenge, interpret, and enrich our understanding of each artist's personal world.
Every year, one event takes center stage on our calendar: "Emerging Artists." This is our annual showcase where we present a selection of the most outstanding talents, drawn directly from our classrooms.
These young creators, guided by their professors, offer us a raw and sensitive immersion into the pulse of the contemporary world. Their works not only reflect their surroundings but also act as mirrors of their most intimate realities. What unites them is the relentless pursuit of authorship, transforming each project into a personal and distinctive statement.
We live in an era of profound complexity. In this context, the creations of these students go beyond purely aesthetic considerations; They are a vital tool that can help us interpret and understand this new era. They are the protagonists who, through the lens, are building narratives for tomorrow.

Habitar la Imagen: Cuerpos, Escena y Fotografía
Toda fotografía es una forma de representación. Algunas registran aquello que ocurre frente a la cámara; otras, en cambio, construyen un universo propio para hacer visible aquello que habita en la imaginación, la memoria o el deseo. Las obras que conforman esta exposición pertenecen a esta segunda tradición: la de la puesta en escena fotográfica, entendida como un espacio de encuentro entre la creación visual, la acción performativa y la construcción colectiva de sentido.
Esta muestra reúne el resultado del taller de Fotografía y Puesta en Escena desarrollado junto a la compañía circense El Circo del Mundo–Chile, experiencia que propició un diálogo creativo entre el lenguaje fotográfico y las artes circenses. A lo largo del proceso, las y los participantes exploraron la fotografía no como un acto de captura instantánea, sino como una herramienta de creación capaz de transformar ideas, emociones, relatos y referencias culturales en imágenes cuidadosamente construidas.
Las escenas aquí presentadas nacen de la observación y la reinterpretación de múltiples imaginarios: fragmentos de la pintura, la literatura, el cine, las leyendas populares y la memoria colectiva. Sin embargo, estas referencias no aparecen como citas literales, sino como puntos de partida para nuevas narrativas visuales. Cada imagen es el resultado de un proceso de investigación, diálogo y experimentación en el que el cuerpo, el espacio, la luz y los objetos adquieren un valor simbólico que trasciende su apariencia inmediata.
La participación de artistas circenses aporta a estas obras una dimensión singular. El circo, históricamente asociado al riesgo, el asombro y la transformación, introduce en las imágenes una corporalidad expresiva capaz de tensionar los límites entre realidad y ficción. Los gestos, equilibrios, movimientos y presencias escénicas se convierten en vehículos para representar conflictos, sueños, preguntas y experiencias compartidas.
Más allá de los resultados visuales, esta exposición da cuenta de un proceso colectivo donde la creación artística se entiende como una práctica de encuentro. La fotografía se transforma aquí en un territorio común en el que convergen diversas disciplinas, saberes y experiencias de vida. Cada obra refleja la construcción de un espacio de colaboración donde la imaginación individual se fortalece a través del trabajo grupal.
En tiempos marcados por la velocidad de las imágenes y el consumo inmediato de lo visual, estas fotografías invitan a detener la mirada. Nos proponen ingresar a escenarios donde nada es casual, donde cada elemento ocupa un lugar preciso y donde el instante fotográfico se convierte en la culminación de una acción compartida. Son imágenes que no buscan explicar, sino sugerir; no pretenden entregar respuestas, sino abrir nuevas posibilidades de interpretación.
Esta exposición celebra la capacidad del arte para construir otros mundos posibles y reconoce en la fotografía y en el circo herramientas de creación, reflexión y transformación social. Las imágenes aquí reunidas son el testimonio de ese encuentro: un espacio donde el cuerpo, la escena y la fotografía dialogan para dar forma a relatos que nos invitan a imaginar, cuestionar y habitar la realidad desde nuevas perspectivas.

Dwelling in the Image: Bodies, Stage, and Photography
All photography is a form of representation. Some photographs record what happens in front of the camera; others, however, construct their own universe to make visible what dwells in the imagination, memory, or desire. The works that make up this exhibition belong to this second tradition: that of photographic staging, understood as a space of encounter between visual creation, performative action, and the collective construction of meaning.
This exhibition brings together the results of the Photography and Staging workshop developed in collaboration with the circus company El Circo del Mundo–Chile, an experience that fostered a creative dialogue between photographic language and circus arts. Throughout the process, the participants explored photography not as an act of instantaneous capture, but as a creative tool capable of transforming ideas, emotions, narratives, and cultural references into carefully constructed images.
The scenes presented here arise from the observation and reinterpretation of multiple imaginaries: fragments of painting, literature, film, folk legends, and collective memory. However, these references do not appear as literal quotations, but rather as starting points for new visual narratives. Each image is the result of a process of research, dialogue, and experimentation in which the body, space, light, and objects acquire a symbolic value that transcends their immediate appearance.
The participation of circus artists lends these works a unique dimension. The circus, historically associated with risk, wonder, and transformation, introduces an expressive physicality into the images, capable of blurring the lines between reality and fiction. Gestures, balances, movements, and stage presence become vehicles for representing conflicts, dreams, questions, and shared experiences.
Beyond the visual results, this exhibition reveals a collective process where artistic creation is understood as a practice of encounter. Photography here becomes a common ground where diverse disciplines, knowledge, and life experiences converge. Each work reflects the construction of a collaborative space where individual imagination is strengthened through group work.
In times marked by the speed of images and the immediate consumption of the visual, these photographs invite us to pause and reflect. They propose entering scenarios where nothing is accidental, where each element occupies a precise place, and where the photographic moment becomes the culmination of a shared action. These are images that do not seek to explain, but to suggest; they do not aim to provide answers, but to open new possibilities for interpretation.
This exhibition celebrates art's capacity to construct other possible worlds and recognizes photography and circus arts as tools for creation, reflection, and social transformation. The images gathered here bear witness to that encounter: a space where the body, the stage, and photography converse to shape narratives that invite us to imagine, question, and inhabit reality from new perspectives.
